End Of Year!

So I'm not going to lie, it sucks working at a grocery store, if you are still in school, at the end of the year. The reason for this is, the boss cuts peoples hours especially if you are in school. The meaning behind this is he gets a huge bonus at the end of the year. The less he has to pay workers the more money he gets. I know, It's not fair but he's your boss we have to do what the boss says. I'm a stocker, Does that mean he want cut my hours, absolutely not. He cuts my hours just as bad because I am still in school. I absolutely love my job, but I do hate the end of the month.

RIP Paul Walker

I have heard a lot about the famous actor from Fast and the Furious Paul Walker. His death was devastating to everyone, especially his 15 year old daughter. When I first heard about Paul Walker's death in a tragic car crash,  I immediately thought it was a host or fake. I kept looking on different pages and everyone of them mentioning Paul's death. I began to believe this story when I got on instagram and saw all the actors from "The Fast and the Furious" movies posting pictures of them with Paul Walker and writing sad post about him and his fame.

Tyrese Gibson said He had basically lived with Paul for the past 7 years during the movies they were filming. They all had just got together for Paul's 40th birthday, the whole crew from 'Fast and Furious.' Tyrese Gibson went to Paul's crash site and put a flower down. There is a video of Tyrese at Paul's Crash site crying his eyes out, That is a true friend, he doesn't just talk to Paul because of Fast and Furious they have became brothers. Tyrese posted this yesterday  "My heart is hurting so bad no one can make me believe this is real Father God I pray that you send clarity over this cause I just don't understand My heart hurts it's broken no one can convince me that this is real.... Prayer warriors please pray real hard for his only child, his daughter and family... #HeartOfAnAngel13YrsFamilyForeverWeJustCelebreatedYour40thBirthday..... My God... My God... I can't believe I'm writing this." along with a picture of Paul and him. This is so sad, this news hit him so hard.

Honestly I do not know what I would do if someone that close to me was killed or died. That is the most horrible thing to live with, I guarantee that is hard for his daughter.

Thanksgiving!

So since Thanksgiving is coming up next week, all grocery stores are pretty busy this whole month. Everyone is getting ready for all the family dinners. I heard the government is splitting food stamps up every month also, like some people will get theres at the beginning of the month and the rest will get theres in the middle of the month. I beleive this will help out on business. We will more than likely stay busy yearly.

Sooo yesterday!

So I was at work and this guy who we have on trespassing notice walks in. I immediately see him and recognise him and told my manager that he was the guy. He walks around the store and I was following him, until he spotted me....he came straight to me and started running his mouth. My manager pops around the corner and made him leave, I was so close to smarting off to him but I knew if I was to do that I probably wouldnt have a job anymore. 

Problems at work.

There are problems at work sometimes...some may be your fault and some may be theres. I was at work one night and I was watching a white male in the store and this black male got mad at us and started cussing at everyone. I stopped watching the white guy and asked him if he had a problem. He looked at me and said "You need to tell all these white people to stop watching me" I said, "Sir, we watch everyone. We don't care what age, size, color or gender. If you do not like it you can leave." He said, "Well when you clock out, I have a gun in the car for you right now!" Things like this you have to let go sometimes because you need the job. I really wanted to clock out and go outside and fight him but I need my job he wasn't worth my job.

I have about two minites to post a lilo bit of something on here then I have to go to work....well yesterday at work i learned something new. I'll tell you more about it tomorrow.

Why I like my job!

I like my job because my boss is a very nice and understanding man. I work at Quality Foods on 28 by pass, I've been working here since about April. I started out being a bagger and i did that for about a month and my boss called me to his office. I'm not gonna lie at this point I was very scared and nervous, wondering if I done something wrong. He told me how great of a job I was doing and asked me, "Do you want to be a stocker or remain a bagger?" and of course anyone at my age definitely say, " I would rather be a stocker."

Now I am a stocker and I've been there for about 3 months. It's a great job, I love it...I get paid minimum wage. I believe in about 2 months I will get a raise.But thats my job and if I haven't talked bout something you're waiting on me to talk bout comment about it and I will hurry the process up a little bit.

My job!

I got me a job when I turned 16 around April because I got tired of having to ask my mom and dad for money. I started working at Quality Foods because thats where my dad and brother first started working in high school. The boss and all the managers are very nice and will work with you on your schedule if you do sports and things for school. I love working outside of school because I have the ability to get away from friends at school and some people need that a lot. I'm a stocker at Quality Foods but its fun at times. My opinion is more people need jobs in high school because its more a stress reliever for myself.

Why are jobs important?

Jobs are important to kids because some parents are not good on money. Some will not be able to pay bills and give you money whenever you need it, so therefore teens need jobs to be able to go out if they want to without mommy and daddy's money. My mother and father quit paying for stuff like going out to eat with friends or bowling because I got a job now. Since I got a job I have not asked my parents for money because I know how hard it is to pay bills it can be a pain to all parents.

Manners

So when you are talking to the manager in your collard shirt, Do you want to say words like "yea" or "no"? No you don't, let me explain why. When you are talking to that manager and he ask you a question and you just reply with a yea or no that tells him that no one has ever taught you any manners. The way he sees it is if you don't show him manners, Why would you show his customers manners. So it is extremely important to always use your manners whether they are younger or older by a few days it doesn't matter you always need to use your manners and be polite. It's better if you learn your manners early because then it comes easier to you when you are looking for a job or anything. However if you do not learn it early just think about being polite and using manners when talking to anyone.

Dress to impress

There is several ways you could impress the boss of a bussiness. Okay lets' say you are going to talk to the boss personally to ask him for a job, should you wear basketball shorts, a holy shirt, and have your hair messed up. I will answer that "NO!" That would not be a very wise choice.

Bosses mainly look at the way you dress to decide whether or not he will hire you. They don't do it out of discrimination but that lets them know right away if you really want the job or if mommy and daddy are making you get a job. I know all of this from experience, I tried getting a job in basketball shorts I wasn't dressed up at all, the boss didn't even let me talk he sent me home. After that I dressed up in a collard shirt with jeans on and he told me he would call me the following Monday with my schedule.So if you are looking for a job you really need to click on these Blogs I'll start posting these everyday but Saturday and Sunday. 

How to find a job?

How do you find a job? The best way to find a job is to think about what you would like to do while you're still in high school. Be sure the job has late hours as well, because you cannot work mornings and be in school learning its just not going to happen. There is several ways to get a job you just have to do the correct things to get attention. One major tip is to dress to impress not for the job that is the biggest tip I have.

Introduction to success

I will be talking about how to find a job and how old you usually have to be to get a job somewhere thats not under the table pay. It's hard to find a job without filling out some applications, you can't just walk in and ask to work and they say 'Yes'. It's a lot more complex than just filling out some applications also, the best way to get a job is go to the job you are looking at kind of early in the day maybe before 12:00 P.M, ask for the store manager and when you talk to him use a lot of manners I will explain more in the next posts.
